I normally don't create art with an intended "message". Most of my artworks are illustrations, anyway; the text would speak for artwork. In this case, though, I wanted to illustrate how this simple communications device transforms a curious stranger into a dull passerby, lost in his own world, with no story to tell.
Painting 2 in my series of fine art parodies. All: [link]
I looked at it, tilted my head, and burst out laughing :') This has got to be the most humourous painting I have seen in a long long while, I think you should do a before and after kind of thing crediting Edvard Munth.
"In his century." "Now."
xD I love it, I personally think the rest of it not being modernised is where it loses out however, because those boats, are quite obviously old ferry boat types, like the titanic. If you'd changed those into yachts or something, it'd keep withg the modern feel.
Just an idea But hey, it's not slanted, and it's good! So well done, I especially like how you've even managed to add in the light off the phone shining on his face, most artists would forget something like that. Attention to detail is amazing, and I love it.
I gave you a lower technique than everything else because you've copied someone else's work for the most part, no offence, but I just prefer originality. However, it's still quite high due to the fact of how much detail you've paid to just the phone and the light, as aforementioned. Keep painting!
